Luis Orta is a Rio 2016 Olympic marathoner, who graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Masters degree in Sports Administration and Coaching.
Luis holds four different coaching certifications and has competed in over 20 international championships including 6 IAAF World Championships and the Olympic Games of Rio 2016. He is a 2:15:35 marathoner and currently holds the Venezuelan National Record in the Half Marathon with a time of 1:03:09 and the Road 10k with a time of 28:39.

Orta resides in Boulder, Colorado, where he prepares for the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Education
Luis graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Masters in Sports Administration and Coaching. He also has a Bachelor degree in International commerce and a second one in Hispanic Studies, both from UK.

Luis has four different coaching certifications, and has helped over 150 athletes of all ability levels reach their Pb's. Luis is fluent both in English and Spanish.

Luis is a 2:15:35 marathoner and currently holds the Venezuelan National Record in the Half Marathon with a time of 1:03:09, and the Road 10k with a time of 28:39. He has competed in events ranging from the 1500m to the marathon, and has trained and learned in the world distance Meccas like, Kenya, Mexico and Boulder, Colorado.

Coaching
Luis founded My Olympic Coach back in 2018, after establishing himself in Boulder, Colorado. Since then, he has been coaching athletes from more than 25 countries across the world, helping them succeed in the sport of running. He uses his knowledge as an Olympian and his education to help his athletes improve their performance and their competitive development daily.
